Mocana is a network security technology company based in San Francisco’s Financial District. Our company provides a wide range of high-performance security software for embedded and non-embedded devices. As a member of the professional services engineering team, the Project Manager is accountable for the cost, schedule, and performance of large, high-impact, and highly visible projects. He or she will travel to meet regularly with staff, senior management, customers, and other stakeholders (partners, and system integrators) on customer’s sites and Mocana offices.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
Work with senior managers, customers, and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle (initiation, definition and planning, controlling and monitoring, and closure) in order to deliver, deploy, and install new features, work flows, products, and services.
Develop critical briefings and presentations supported by implementation, mitigation, contingency and post-implementation evaluation plan, solid investment analysis and risk management reports. These briefings and presentations include the strategies, critical paths and successful criteria for successful delivery, deployment and integration within customer equipment.
Develop project delivery frameworks, associated work plans, strategies, financial budgets and human resource level requirements, risk management, and project milestones and delivery schedules.
Ensure efficiency and effectiveness throughout the lifecycle by applying sound project management principles and structures, and by establishing objectives, targets, and established standards.
Provide leadership and project management expertise with strategic and authoritative advice during the lifecycle.
Identify key issues and problems including the potential impact of decisions that could have a significant financial resource or human resource implication, and/or affect the achievement of the objectives and priorities set out in the project plan.
Report to and obtain support from senior management in order to ensure agreement on all technology and project deliverables
Facilitate resolution of all key issues and problems, and guide or provide direction to internal and external resources
Plan, co-ordinate, and monitor development, documentation, and revision of needs/requirements, design procedures, test procedures, and quality standards
Plan, co-ordinate, and monitor software architecture, design, and code
Plan, co-ordinate, and monitor unit, functional, and systems, tests
Develop, monitor, and act on key performance indicators
Plan, co-ordinate, and monitor implementation of new processes, applications software, and tools to facilitate delivery and deployment
Knowledge Requirements:
Working knowledge of at least 3 of the following areas: cryptography, VPNs & IPsec, PKI, CAC, PIV, FIPS, SFTP/SSH, HTTPS (SSL/TLS), PKCS, TCP/IP networking
Experience in, and understanding of C and Java programming languages
Experience in, and understanding of operating systems Linux and Windows
Office software
Skills:
Understanding of all project phases, wide range of stakeholders, and organizational influences.
Mastery of project integration, scope, cost, quality management, human resources, communication, risk and procurement management.
Able to cultivate working relationships with staff, senior management, customers, partners, and system integrators.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering
PMP and/or advanced education in Project Management is an asset
