JDSU Selects Mocana to Secure Popular TestPoint Family of Broadband Test Solutions
SAN FRANCISCO, CA, Nov 16, 2009 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) --
JDSU | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Mocana today announced that JDSU, the leading provider of
communications test and measurement solutions and optical products
for telecommunications service providers, cable operators, and
network equipment manufacturers, has selected Mocana to provide
embedded security and device integrity for the popular JDSU TestPoint
family of broadband test solutions.
JDSU TestPoint offers a flexible and cost-effective telecom and
datacom test solution for Production and Service Verification Testing
(SVT). It consists of a modular platform that provides versatility in
configuring interface types, transmission rates, protocols, and port
density. A key TestPoint attribute is support for multiple rates on
single modules. The platform also features and easy-to-use graphical
user interface (GUI) and simple automation interfaces. It is
available in three chassis formats, and provides 1/2/4/8/10G Fibre
Channel (FC) support and Ethernet features from 10Mb/s up to 10
Gigabit Ethernet (GigE). Transport protocol coverage includes
Synchronous Optical NETworking/Synchronous Digital Hierarchy
(SONET/SDH) up to 39.813 Gb/s and Optical Transport Network (G.709)
up to 43.018 Gb/s including overclocked rates.
After analyzing several security partners, JDSU selected Mocana and
their NanoSSH Advanced solution because of Mocana's extremely small
footprint, very high performance and ease-of-implementation. Because
NanoSSH is designed for portability (it's already available for more
than 30 operating systems and 70 CPU platforms), JDSU has ultimate
flexibility when expanding the TestPoint product line to new hardware
platforms.
NanoSSH is Mocana's super-fast, super-small SSH client/server
solution with support for X509.v3 Certificate based authentication
and comes with RADIUS client, specifically designed to speed product
development while providing best-in-class device security services
for resource-constrained environments. NanoSSH provides a holistic
approach for securing networked devices and services, and is ideally
suited for resource-constrained devices as well as high-traffic
enterprise and federal environments where performance is critical.
NanoSSH is open-standards-based, extensible, extremely small
footprint, platform-agnostic and features an optional
government-certified FIPS 140-2 level-1-validated crypto core and NSA
Suite B cryptography. OEM developers can request a free trial of the
NanoSSH software at http://www.mocana.com/evaluate.html.
"Mocana's NanoSSH software helped accelerate our development cycle
for secure connectivity to the TestPoint product," said Guylain
Barlow, Sr. Product Line Manager in JDSU's Communications Test and
Measurement business segment. "Mocana's technology is the fastest,
smallest SSH implementation we've seen, and the quality of their code
can't be beat. They really understand device integrity, and the
special challenges of securing embedded platforms."
Mocana announced general availability of the new 5.1 release of its
Device Security Framework(TM), which includes NanoSSH, this
September. DSF is the industry's most comprehensive suite of
solutions designed to protect the integrity of connected devices.
More than 100 major OEM companies including Cisco, Intel, General
Electric, Honeywell, Motorola and Siemens rely on Mocana's Framework
to protect the networked non-PC devices they sell into the consumer,
medical, industrial, IT and military markets.
Developers can get a free evaluation copy of the new 5.1 release of
NanoSSH or any other component of the DSF at www.mocana.com/evaluate.html.
"JDSU's TestPoint solutions play a crucial role in the
gigabit-Internet infrastructure," said Adrian Turner, President and
CEO of Mocana. "These critical national infrastructure devices and
the communications they monitor and direct are increasingly coming
under attack as hackers become ever more sophisticated. We're proud
to work with JDSU to help them layer in security that's robust,
transparent and won't degrade the performance of TestPoint devices."
