Overview
Consumer electronics devices are becoming increasingly connected. The technology that began in datacom and networking equipment is now migrating to consumer electronics devices. There is new clarity within the market that it is the combination of devices, software and online services that combine to deliver the experiences that consumers demand. There are already examples of this in the music and video domains, and IPTV promises to open up even more market opportunities for the consumer electronics market. However, in order for there to be widespread adoption of these new devices and services, there must be consumer confidence in the security of these devices and services.
Because many of these devices are resource-constrained, a security solution is necessary that is small footprint, yet high performance.
